I have attached
a few photo's of the '98 SS Camaro. It has 1-3/4"
primary custom built stainless steel long tube headers, 3" high-flow
IMCO converters, dual cutouts with optional bolt-on turndowns, x-tube
after the cutouts into true dual 2-1/4" exhaust, up over the axle into
two specially made 2-1/2" core glasspack mufflers with a balance tube
connecting the mufflers, and a split rear dual exhaust with quad 3"
formed inside-roll tips that are tapered to the bumper. The whole
exhaust was fabricated out of 304 stainless steel for a lifetime of
use. I keep the cutouts capped due to much increased noise from
the higher flowing heads and more aggressive cam. Sound is too
loud for most, but I love it, you can hear me coming from quite a ways
away, and under accelleration, it sounds like the world is coming to an
end. We had nearly 100 man hours to make this system fit
perfect. For those of you thinking of running true dual exhaust,
make absolute sure to have either an x-tube or h-pipe (balance tube)
somewhere on the system. Trust me, it will sound awful, and you
will lose performance without it.
