NOTE:  THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS ARE NOT SUPPLIED WITH THIS EXHAUST SYSTEM.  MUFFLERS AND CLAMPS ARE NOT SUPPLIED IN THIS DUAL KIT.  THIS KIT HAS BEEN DESIGNED FOR USE WITH TURBO MUFFLERS OR AN EQUIVALENT 2-1/4” DOUBLE OFFSET.  GLASS PACKS CAN BE USED WITH MODIFICATIONS.

DANGER WARNING:  SHOULD THE PURCHASER DECIDE TO INSTALL THIS EXHAUST PRODUCT AT HOME, BE WARNED THAT PLEASURE CAR OR LIGHT DUTY TRUCK/VAN “BUMPER” JACKS ARE INTENDED FOR EMERGENCY USE ONLY.  THE USE OF FRAME CONTACT JACK STANDS IN CONJUNCTION WITH A FLOOR JACK AS MAIN SUPPORT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO MINIMIZE ACCIDENTAL DROPPING OF A VEHICLE WHILE THE INSTALLATION PROCEEDS.

HANGER CONSISTS OF AN ‘L’ STRAP CONNECTED TO THE FRAME WITH A 5/16” BOLT, WASHER, SNAPPER GROMMET, AND NUT.
 
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

NOTE:  DO NOT TIGHTEN ANY CLAMPS OR NUTS UNTIL THE LAST STEP!!
NOTE:  THIS EXHAUST SYSTEM RUNS OUTSIDE OF THE FRAME!!

1)  REMOVE THE OLD EXHAUST SYSTEM.  SAVE THE OLD EXHAUST FLANGES AND THE MANIFOLD STUDS AND NUTS FROM THE ORIGINAL FRONT PIPES.  

2)  INSTALL THE LEFT (#E400--24” LONG WITH 40 DEG. FLARE) AND RIGHT (#E404--28” LONG WITH 40 DEG. FLARE) MANIFOLD PIPES USING THE ORIGINAL FLANGES.  TIGHTEN ONLY ENOUGH TO HOLD IN PLACE.

3)  INSTALL THE LEFT (#E401--60” LONG WITH 4 BENDS) AND RIGHT (#E405--54” LONG WITH 3 BENDS) FRONT EXTENSION PIPES TO THE MANIFOLD PIPES USING 2” CLAMPS.  NOTE:  FOR VEHICLES REQUIRING CATALYTIC CONVERTERS TO MEET EPA GUIDELINES, CONVERTER PART # 73-7774 OR EQUIVALENT SHOULD BE INSTALLED ON THE END OF THESE EXTENSION PIPES.  SEE DRAWING.  CONVERTERS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS KIT.

4)  LOCATE THE CHANNEL ABOVE THE END OF BOTH OF THE EXHAUST PIPES INSTALLED IN STEP 3), AND RIGHT ABOVE WHERE THE MUFFLER INLETS WILL BE.  DRILL A 1/4” HOLE TO MOUNT THE LB7 HANGER, GROMMET, AND LAG SCREW TO THE FRAME.  

5)  INSTALL THE MUFFLERS (DOUBLE OFFSET TURBO-TYPE RECOMMENDED) ONTO THE FRONT EXTENSION PIPES USING 2-1/4” CLAMPS.  ATTACH THE LB7 HANGERS TO THE MUFFLERS USING 2-1/4” CLAMPS.  

6)  POSITION THE LEFT & RIGHT TAIL PIPES (#E402--60” PIPES WITH TWO OFFSET BENDS) SO THAT THEY CLEAR THE TIRE AND LEAF SPRINGS ON BOTH SIDES AND INSTALL.  SECURE WITH THE CLAMPS PROVIDED.

7)  INSTALL THE REAR TAIL SPOUTS (#E403) TO THE LEFT & RIGHT TAIL PIPES USING 2-1/4” CLAMPS.  TRIM TAIL SPOUTS TO YOUR DESIRED LENGTH.  

8)  LOCATE THE CHANNEL IN THE PICKUP BOX ABOVE THE TAIL SPOUTS INSTALLED IN STEP 7).  DRILL A 1/4” HOLE AND MOUNT THE LB9 HANGER, GROMMET, AND LAG SCREW TO THE VEHICLE.  CLAMP THE HANGERS TO THE TWO TAIL SPOUTS USING 2-1/4” CLAMPS.  

9)  MAKE SURE THAT ALL THE PARTS OF THE SYSTEM ARE CLEAR OF FRAME MEMBERS, ALL HOSES, SUSPENSION, AND BRAKE AND FUEL LINES.  STARTING AT THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS, TIGHTEN ALL CONNECTIONS AND NUTS.  MAKE SURE ALL PARTS ARE CLEAR AND WILL NOT LEAK OR RATTLE.  AFTER SEVERAL DAYS OF DRIVING RETIGHTEN ALL BOLTS.
