INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

NOTE:  DO NOT TIGHTEN ANY CLAMPS OR NUTS UNTIL THE LAST STEP!!

1)  REMOVE THE OLD EXHAUST SYSTEM.  SAVE THE OLD GASKETS FROM THE ORIGINAL FRONT PIPE(S).  THE ORIGINAL HANGERS MAY BE KEPT TO HANG THIS NEW SYSTEM, ALTHOUGH NEW HANGERS HAVE BEEN SUPPLIED WITH THIS KIT TO USE AS YOU FIND NECESSARY DURING THE EXHAUST INSTALLATION.

2)  INSTALL THE LEFT (#344804--WITH 45 DEGREE FLARE AND 60” LONG) AND RIGHT (#344805--WITH THE 45 DEGREE FLARE AND 60” LONG) MANIFOLD PIPES USING THE INCLUDED GASKETS AND THE INCLUDED FLANGES.  YOU WILL NEED TO USE YOUR ORIGINAL MANIFOLD STUDS AND NUTS.  TIGHTEN ONLY ENOUGH TO HOLD IN PLACE.

3)  INSTALL THE LEFT (#344806) AND RIGHT (#344807) FRONT EXTENSION PIPES TO THE MANIFOLD PIPES USING 2-1/4” CLAMPS.  ROTATE TO CLEAR THE CROSS MEMBERS AND CONNECTING ARMS ON VEHICLES WITH REAR COIL SPRING SUSPENSION.  CLAMP LIGHTLY INTO PLACE.  

4)  INSTALL THE THU400 RUBBER STRAP HANGERS BY DRILLING A 5/16” HOLE IN THE CROSS MEMBER HOLDING THE DRIVE SHAFT CENTERING BEARING.  MOUNT THE HANGER USING A 5/16” X 1” BOLT, FENDER WASHER, AND NUT.  CLAMP THE HANGERS TO THE EXTENSION PIPES ON BOTH SIDES.  

5)  INSTALL THE MUFFLERS ONTO THE FRONT EXTENSION PIPES USING 2-1/4” CLAMPS.  PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU ARE USING GLASS PACKS, THE EXHAUST SHOULD FLOW OVER AND NOT DIRECTLY INTO THE LOUVERS.

6)  INSTALL THE LEFT (#344808) AND RIGHT (#344809) TAIL PIPES TO THE MUFFLERS USING 2-1/4” CLAMPS.  

7)  LOCATE HOLES IN THE FRAME (OR DRILL IF NONE PRESENT) BEHIND THE REAR TIRES AND MOUNT TAIL PIPE HANGERS (THU100) TO HANG THE TAIL PIPES.

8)  MAKE SURE THAT ALL THE PARTS OF THE SYSTEM ARE CLEAR OF FRAME MEMBERS, ALL HOSES, SUSPENSION, AND BRAKE AND FUEL LINES.  STARTING AT THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS, TIGHTEN ALL CONNECTIONS AND NUTS.  MAKE SURE ALL PARTS ARE CLEAR AND WILL NOT LEAK OR RATTLE.  AFTER SEVERAL DAYS OF DRIVING RETIGHTEN ALL BOLTS.
